I have a passion for pattern, color, texture and
anything vintage. I am an avid collector of old
fabrics and love mannequins, Victorian
costumes, antique furniture, topiary, hatboxes
and handbags. I also enjoy cooking and wine.
My travels through Europe have inspired me
greatly – from the organic lines of Art Nouveau
in Prague to the peeling and flaking frescoes
in Italy.
I like to create texture and movement on
canvas using modeling pastes and natural
materials like sand. I then paint with heavy
bodied acrylics for intense color and more
texture. I have recently started to use the
computer to further enhance my designs,
giving them a whole new exciting dimension.
I was born and have lived most of my life in
Yorkshire, England. My husband and I moved
to California in 2006. My Father, who was a
great self-taught Artist, had encouraged me
from an early age to create Art.
After studying Graphic Design and working in
an Advertising Agency for a time, I moved
into the world of Greeting Cards. More
recently, I have received commissions for
children’s books, posters and prints, tableware
and wallpaper designs.
