A prolific illustrator, designer and fine artist, Mike
Patrick is largely self-taught. His career started
shortly after graduation from high school when
he enlisted in the Air Force and was assigned to
Vietnam as an illustrator/photographer. Upon
his return to civilian life he soon found himself
part of the Los Angeles design community. There,
with a mix of high profile clients and the pressure
of deadlines, his design and illustration skills were
given ample opportunity to mature.
Mike's professional career in commercial and
fine arts has been international in scope.
Equally at ease with brushes and oil paints or
an electronic drawing tablet and pixels, Mike's
subject matter has been just as varied, ranging
from automotive to portraiture, product design
and illustration to depictions of rural life and
nostalgia, aircraft to wildlife, motorsports to
undersea vistas. Mike has no one particular
favorite genre or style of art, but instead enjoys
the aesthetics of color, design, form and function
and the challenges of each new creation.
